What Green Business Issues Are You Working ON?

What are you doing to “go green” in your business?

Recycling counts. So does allowing your employees to telecommute. Do you make organic shampoo or make-up? (Don’t laugh – the market for eco-friendly personal care products is HUGE!) Or have you started one of those incredibly popular green cleaning services?

Leave a comment to let me — and everyone else who could be in the market for your product or service — know. (Don’t worry if you’re just getting started – a lot of women are. That’s what makes this all so exciting!)smart-glass-jewelry

I’m working on a startup to help people find and do telework. I’m hoping to help lots of people get to work with a greener commute! Find me talking about telework on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/telesaur

Diane, I’d love to talk sometime… your bio is very interesting, and I’m sure I could learn a lot from you. Thanks for the post.

Let’s definitely keep in touch. I hope you’ll download the Declaration and let me know what you think! We’ll be launching a network soon – it will make it easier for start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses to connect with each other and be mutually supportive. I’ll let you know when we get that going.

    Hello Diane!

I’m making efforts to move green as a business as well as a family unit. I blog about it the best I can. My latest steps toward green in business are to use as many organic oils in my handmade soap as I can. From there, I plan to quantify a percentage of Organic and make goals to increase that percentage once I make a mark in the sand. I have tried my hand at homemade paper (from my own recycled paper pile) and found that my effort does not help my profit margin. I’ll stick to fabric for now and move toward organic ones in the near future. I think the key to moving green in business is to quantify your “green” goals.

Terrabytes is helping businesses measure and reduce the footprint of their IT operations. IT accounts for 2% of the world’s CO2 emissions every years. In addition to reducing this impact, IT can be leveraged to enable greener business practices such as teleconferencing and printing less.
